Your Trezor keeps the important part offline. Every approval happens on your device—not in a password box on your computer.

01 / THE FLOW

A safer sign-in,
step by step.

The exact screens vary by device and service. The principle stays the same: connect, review, approve on your Trezor.

01

Connect your device

Connect your Trezor to your computer with a USB cable. Use a trusted device and a cable that supports data.

START WITH THE HARDWARE
02

Open the official app

Launch Trezor Suite from a source you trust, or open the supported service you intend to use.

CHECK THE SOURCE
03

Unlock on your terms

Follow your model’s PIN flow. PIN entry differs between models; use the on-device display and official instructions.

NEVER TYPE A SEED
04

Review and confirm

Read the request shown on the Trezor display. Approve only if you recognize the service and details.

YOU MAKE THE APPROVAL

One important distinction: Trezor Suite unlocks your local wallet; it is not the same as signing in to a remote website. A service login is available only where that service supports a compatible hardware-key flow.

02 / SECURITY, SIMPLIFIED

Your secrets stay
on your side.

A connected computer can display a request. Your hardware wallet keeps the private keys protected and lets you check before you approve.

Approval is physical

For supported signing flows, a request needs your interaction with the device. A compromised computer can’t simply export the private key.

Your recovery seed is not a login

Your seed is a sensitive backup for recovering a wallet—not a password, verification code, or website sign-in. Keep it offline.

Check what the device shows

Verify the displayed details and destination before approving. If the request looks unfamiliar or doesn’t match, reject it.

Hardware keys can replace passwords

Some services support security-key sign-in standards such as FIDO U2F or WebAuthn. Compatibility depends on the service, device, and setup.

Passphrases need extra care

An optional passphrase can open a different wallet. If you use one, understand the recovery implications: a forgotten passphrase cannot be recovered for you.

Open-source firmware

Trezor publishes its software for public review. Keep your device firmware and official apps current, and follow verified update instructions.

03 / YOUR QUICK CHECK

Pause if you see
any of these.

01

A website or support agent asks you to type or upload your recovery seed.

STOP
02

A pop-up asks you to enter your device PIN on your computer.

STOP
03

A confirmation request appears that you didn’t initiate or can’t verify.

REJECT
04

You arrived at the app through an unexpected link, ad, or message.

VERIFY

Navigate to official resources yourself. Trezor will never need your recovery seed to help you log in.

04 / GOOD TO KNOW

Questions, answered.

A few helpful distinctions can make the whole experience clearer.

What happens when I log in to Trezor Suite?

Suite is the official wallet interface used to manage your Trezor. Connecting and unlocking your device lets Suite interact with your wallet; it is different from authenticating to a third-party website. Use the current official instructions for your device and app.

Can I use Trezor as a security key for websites?

Some services support hardware-key authentication standards and list compatible Trezor models. Support varies, so check the service’s own setup guide and Trezor’s current compatibility documentation. It won’t work as a login button on every website.

Should I use a passphrase?

A passphrase is an advanced option that can derive a different wallet from the same recovery seed. It also creates a serious recovery responsibility: if you forget it, there is no reset or recovery. Read the official guidance before enabling it.

What if my device is lost or damaged?

Your recovery seed can restore your wallet on a compatible device, if you have a safe, correct backup. Protect it as the master key to your funds: never digitize it, share it, or enter it into a website. Follow official recovery steps only.

What’s the safest way to get Trezor Suite?

Navigate to trezor.io yourself and follow the official download and verification instructions. Avoid links from unsolicited messages, sponsored search results, or third-party download sites.
